Flatirons Year at a Glance:
In this year at a Glance, you will see our first shot of entirely scheduling out the year! If things change or we have to update the calendar, we will let you know and update this Google Sheet.
We recommend you look at the online version so any changes we make are the current version! You will see many events for the company; all of the events are mandatory company events, with the exception of the Sheer Competition, which is a solo/duet optional competition that you may sign up for later. Please lock these dates in!

We do not get the full schedule for competition and convention weekends until seven days before the event. Make sure to keep your whole weekend open for those weekends since we do not have a say in when your dancer will be competing! All of these events will also be updated on the Google Calendar.

For competition and convention weekends, it is not a requirement that you stay at the hotel. However, we do require that all dancers arrive two hours before their scheduled performance time. In the past years, we have been two hours ahead of schedule, and we will communicate this to you on BAND. Your dancer may likely perform early in the morning or late at night for full events, so please plan as needed. Please also ensure you are on our BAND page for all day-of-event communication. Dancers may join these pages, too, to stay up to date!

Thursday Schedule/Expectations:

We will follow this schedule (scroll down on the sheets file) every Thursday for the foreseeable future. Due to the complexity of scheduling, we cannot make any changes to this schedule. Your dancer must attend every rehearsal. If your dancer is sick, they are to come and watch at a minimum unless we have a doctor's note by the morning of that day.

For every rehearsal, dancers must be in all-black, form-fitting clothing with their hair up and the appropriate shoes on. Due to the tight schedule, dancers are expected to move quickly from class to class. Please have your dancer arrive 10/15 minutes early to warm up appropriately and prepare for class. We have a lot to do in a short amount of time!

If your dancer has a break from dance to dance, you may see the option for a specialty drop-in—they may attend this for 30 minutes or their entire break as they choose. Their attendance can vary week to week in the drop-in. The specialty drop-in times are indicated on the schedule.

Dancers may also bring homework or practice their company dances/specialties, or eat a snack during their breaks. At the studio, we will be implementing a zero-tolerance phone policy. Under no circumstances will we allow phones to be out during these breaks or water breaks at rehearsals. This is on Thursdays or during any classes throughout the week.

Rehearsal Schedule for August 10th, August 21st and August 22nd:
Below is the link to the rehearsal schedule for the three extra practice dates in August. Please put these in your calendar and we will be good to go for these upcoming dates!

Being a Company Dancer:
Throughout your weekly classes, we are confident your training will be exceptional. This progress we are about to see (and have seen this summer) makes us SO excited! Being a company dancer means holding yourself professionally not only in rehearsal but also in class. You are going to be the role model for all of your classes! Because of this, we expect you always to come prepared and on time, focus, and go full out. This is your training, and while we are here to help you every step of the way, we also know that it takes giving 100% to every class for this training to succeed. And oh boy, if anyone can do it, it is you all.

We are so proud, excited, and ready for this upcoming season.

Time to get fired up, let's go, COMPANY!!!

Talk soon, everyone!
